Story

A stand mixer is very useful here, especially if you try to make multiple recipes worth at once. This can be a very stiff dough and hard to mix by hand or with a smaller appliance.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup, Unsalted Butter (Softened)
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg (Room Temperature)
  • ½ tsp Almond Extract
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • Sprinkles
  • Candied Cherries

  • Cookie Press
  • Stand Mixer
  • Cookie Sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Combine the Flour and Baking Powder and set aside.
  3. Cut Candied Cherries in half and set aside for later use in decoration.
  4. In bowl of stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and flavoring, mix until well combined.
  6. Incorporate the dry ingredients, adding a little at a time.
  7. Fill the tube of a cookie press with dough and ‘press' cookies onto a cool cookie sheet.
  8. Decorate cookies as you see fit utilizing the sprinkles and/or cherries.
  9. Bake for 12 minutes and allow to cool before removing from cookie sheet.
