Story

Another one of the savory snacks that my mother would traditionally serve at the neighborhood Christmas party. Again, not particularly festive but one of the few times we would have enough people over to eat the entire recipe.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire
  • ½ tsp Celery Salt
  • ½ tsp Seasoned Salt
  • ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ tsp Garlic Salt
  • ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 cup Cheerios
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 1 cup Small Pretzel Rods
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts
  • 1 cup Goldfish Crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250° F.
  2. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Melt butter in a sauce pan and mix in the remaining, non-cereal ingredients (Worcestershire Sauce through Chili Powder).
  4. In a large bowl mix the remaining ingredients (Cheerios through Goldfish Crackers). Bowl should be a good bit larger than the cereal mixture to allow room for mixing.
  5. Pour the combined butter/seasoning over the cereal mixture and stir to evenly coat all of the ingredients.
  6. Spread the resulting mix evenly in the baking plan.
  7. Place in oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
