Prep: 15 Minutes

Cook: 1.5 Hours

Servings: 1 per Half

Story

You can buy whole chickens and split them if your grocery doesn't sell halves. Just take a pair of meat scissors and cut along the breastbone and then the bottom. It will take a bit of effort but the scisoors will go through the bone.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Halves
  • BBQ Rub
  • Olive Oil
  • BBQ Sauce (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep grill to cook at 375° F.
  2. Lightly coat the chicken in Olive Oil and then cover the chicken in the BBQ rub.
  3. Place the chicken on the grill skin side up for 60 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken over and grill skin side down for 15 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken back again, skin side up, and grill for another 15 minutes. If you are going to use BBQ sauce, this is the time to apply it.
  6. Remove when the chicken is 180° F. Allow to rest for 10 or 15 minutes and serve.
