French Toast

Story
You can add the sugar mixture to the toast while cooking. When the toast is just barely done, lightly coat the toast and cook each side for an additional 30 seconds. This will give a nice carmelized texture and sweet, crunch to the toast. Be careful not to burn the sugar if you do this.
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Almond Extract (optional)
- 8 Slices of Bread (Brioche or similar)
- ~1 cup Powdered Sugar
- ~1 tbsp Cinnamon
- Breakfast Syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Heat large skillet/griddle to medium heat.
- Add the vanilla and almond extracts to the milk.
- Combine the Powdered Sugar and Cinnamon, and place in flour sifter or other vessel to allow for sprinkling on the finished toast.
- In a large bowl (preferably with a flat bottom) scramble the eggs.
- Add the milk, salt, and sugar then mix until combined.
- Once griddle is heated and coated with oil/butter take one or two slices of bread at a time (careful not to crowd the bowl) and thoroughly coat with the egg mixture.
- Cook each side 3 to 4 minutes. Time will depend on temperature and may be longer or shorter. Look for a golden/caramel brown color on each side when the toast is ready.
- Once fully cooked, put on a plate and dust with the powdered sugar mixture.
