Story

You can replace the Chili Powder with BBQ Seasoning for a different flavor. I will use a sweet one with my family. You can also dust the wrapped peppers before smoking to add a little bit more flavor but I wouldn't recommend doing that with Chili Powder!

Ingredients

  • 10 Jalapeno Peppers
  • 10 slices Bacon
  • 10 Mini Sausages (Little Smokies)
  • 1 cup Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Moterey Jack
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder

Tools

  • Wire Rack (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat smoker/grill to 225° F and set for indirect cooking.
  2. If using the wire rack, prep by lightly spraying with cooking oil.
  3. Cut the Jalapeno Peppers in half, lengthwise, and remove seeds and membrane. Cut the bacon slices in half, and split the Little Smokies lengthwise.
  4. Mix the Cream Cheese, Monterey Jack, and Chili Powder. Fill the hollowed out Jalapeno halves with the cheese mixture.
  5. Place the Sausage half on top of the filled Jalapeno and then wrap with bacon.
  6. Cook for 2 to 3 hours, until the bacon is browned. if using the wire rack, place the peppers on the rack prior to placing on the grill.
